Peace Reader I almost didn’t send this. Not because I didn’t have anything to say but because I had too much. And somewhere between living it and finding the words, the months just kept moving. But it’s a new season. Spring equinox just passed. The year is accelerating. And something in me said now. So here I am. First… thank you. Some of you reached out at Christmas when I sent that note. I felt every single response. Life had me in a quiet, tender place and your warmth met me right there. I didn’t forget it. I’m carrying it into everything I’m building now. Thank you. Truly. I turned 49 on March 3rd. No big celebration. No grand post. Just me, sitting with myself, feeling the weight and the gift of another year. And then I got on a plane to Trinidad & Tobago. I have been to many places. I have cooked in many kitchens. But nothing, nothing prepared me for what a roti from its birthplace would do to my soul. I stood there eating doubles on the street and I actually got emotional. Not dramatic emotional. Just… still. Like something ancient in me recognized something ancient in that food. I stood there eating doubles on the street and I actually got emotional. Not dramatic emotional. Just still. Like something ancient in me recognized something ancient in that food. And then I had the roti. I have never in my life tasted a roti like that. The layers, the texture, the way it held everything together like it was made with intention and memory and generations of hands before mine. I sat with that roti and I understood something I had been missing my whole career. Which brought back a memory I’ve never shared publicly. Early in my career, I was cooking for Rihanna. She asked for roti. I googled it and my options were limited. Then I called a chef friend for a recipe, and proceeded to make the most structurally compromised roti you have ever seen in your life. The filling? Fire. Absolutely fire. The roti itself? Baby. It wasn’t giving ROTI. It was not doing anything it was supposed to do. She’s from the islands. She knows. And she ate it anyway. Bless her heart. 🙏🏽 I laugh now. But that memory hit different standing in Trinidad, finally tasting what it was supposed to taste like. Like I had finally closed a loop I didn’t even know was open. That’s what travel does. That’s what food does. It takes you back to complete something. I’ve been living outside the US for almost two years now. I’m still learning. Still shedding. Still becoming. And I’ve been quiet — not because nothing was happening, but because everything was happening. Internally. The kind of work that doesn’t photograph well. Something new was being born in me since January. I’ve been incubating it. Sitting with it. Letting it roots grow before I showed anyone the branches. But now it’s time. Here’s what I know: You cannot receive the upgrade until you clear the space. I literally learned this from my computer this week. Years of wanting to upgrade. Years of the notification sitting there. Years of resistance. And then one morning I woke up, moved some things out, and it downloaded in minutes. That was it. How many things in your life are waiting for you to just… clear the space? It’s not always about doing more. Sometimes it’s about creating the conditions. Clearing the static. Getting still enough to hear your own signal again. That’s what I do. That’s what we’re going to be doing together. I’m coming back — and I’m bringing everything with me. Recipes. Tools. Rituals. Real talk. The embodied kitchen. The alchemy of food and consciousness. All of it. You are always your first client. I’m living proof of that right now. More very soon. 🌿 But first… I want to hear from you. Hit reply and tell me: what are you ready to clear space for? I read every response. Every single one. With love and so much gratitude, Chef Ameera The Food Alchemist P.S. — To everyone who responded to my Christmas note: I see you. I felt you. Thank you for holding space for me when I needed it most. This one’s for you. 🖤 |
Peace Reader, For most of my life, I thought nourishment was about food. Not surprising, right? I’ve spent nearly two decades as a chef, cooking for celebrities, athletes, executives, families, and women on healing journeys. Food has been my language for a long time. And for years, I believed that if I could just help people eat better, everything else would follow. Then life started teaching me otherwise. I began meeting women who had all the “right” foods in their kitchens and were still...
Peace Reader, I’m going to get straight to it. The work I’ve created for Cyber Monday wasn’t built from theory. It was born from lived experience, from my own transition, my own nervous system reset, and my own evolution into a new chapter of alignment and clarity. Over the past year, I’ve learned that the woman (or man) you are becoming requires deeper nourishment than the life you’re leaving behind. New levels don’t come from depletion. They come from grounding, clarity, and staying...
Hey Reader If you’ve been sensing a quiet nudge to slow down… If you’ve been pouring into everyone else while your own cup runs dry, this is for you. This isn’t about weakness. This is about wisdom. Your body knows when it’s time to recalibrate. And if this doesn’t speak directly to you, maybe it brings someone to mind—a sister, a partner, a friend. Someone who’s been holding it all together while secretly falling apart. Feel free to pass this along. You never know who’s waiting for...
